1998 - January Capitol Steel began operation as Capitol Mobile Welding, registered as a Sole Proprietor company by Jeff Ganczar

1998 - Jeff incorporates company changing name to Capitol Welding Ltd. Sales growth is excellent as Capitol begins a tradition of exceeding customer's expectations.

1999 - Capitol's first shop in Headingley, Manitoba has 250 square feet.

2000 - Capitol has one employee and one truck - annual revenues have doubled each year. Company moves into larger 1,500 square foot shop.

2001 to 2005 - Capitol's sales revenue grows by triple digits every year. In 2002 the company relocates again into an 11,000 square foot plant.

Capitol's expertise and attention to detail is noticed as they continually receive contracts on larger and more complex projects. Capitol acquires a reputation as the "Go To" company in their industry as they earn a reputation for consistently coming in on time, on budget and with minimal defects. Capitol begins to attract workers from competitors as they recognize that "There's something going on at Capitol"
During this time Capitol successfully overcame obstacles:

• How to get large contracts without large contract experience
• Competition from older, established and larger companies
• Lack of Brand awareness for the new company
• Acquiring bonding and financing for large projects
• How to get manpower to complete the projects on time and on budget

2006 - Capitol Welding Ltd name is changed to Capitol Steel Corp. Jeff Ganczar receives Manitoba Young Entreprenuer of the Year in recognition of Capitol's sustained growth over the years. Capitol's sales and Team continues to expand and the company's plant now spreads over 40,000 square feet. Capitol is the fastest growing Steel Fabricator in Manitoba and the only fabricator in the province undertaking bridge construction.

The Future - Capitol is poised to continue its' proven record of rapid expansion as the company continues to earn strong revenue growth. Capitol is recognized by its' industry peers as an up and coming force. Capitol is attracting the best and the brightest to its' Team. Capitol Cares. Every Job Must be done properly.
